Umm Suqeim

An area known for being home to older, affluent expat families, Umm Suqeim is a beautifully presented area of distinctive low-rises and villas spread across the beach in towards Al Wasl Street. It is mostly notable for its generations-old Dubai expats and their children, just like its sister locality, Jumeirah.

While the area is mostly residential, the two main roads that streets through it, Al Wasl St and Jumeirah Rd, both provide a wealth of cafes and eateries, with the famous Kite Beach being one of the most popular attractions in the city, particularly for the locals. The trio of Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and Jumeirah Beach Hotel are part of the Umm Suqeim neighborhood, adding a spice of nightlife and fine dining to the already busy and bustling district.

It’s the sort of place you’ll feel like you’re living at the beach, even when you’re not exactly face to face with the water right from your bedroom window. Even though some of the villas are beach houses, most have pools and you wouldn’t look odd walking from your place to the beach and back barefoot (on those days the ground isn’t sizzling).

Nestled across the highway from Al Qouz’s booming art districts and right next to the even busier Jumeirah area, bordering Al Barsha’s Mall of the Emirates and with quick and direct access to Dubai Media City, Jumeirah Palm, and Dubai Marina through Al Sufouh road, you’re a stone’s throw away from most of New Dubai. Business Bay, Downtown, and DIFC are also very close, as are Satwa and Bur Dubai. There is no location more central if your focus is what’s south of the Dubai Creek.

Renowned schools in the vicinity are Raffles International School, Raffles World Academy, International School of Choueifat, Collegiate American School, and Emirates International School as well as Kangaroo Kids Nursery, Kid’s Island Nursery, and Little Scholars Academy, while health institutions within proximity are the Dubai London Specialty Hospital, Medcare Medical Centre Jumeirah, Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery, and Emirates Hospital.
